Types of Breathing Apparatus

There are two main types of breathing -apparatus: self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and supplied-air breathing apparatus (SABA)

SCBA is the most common type of breathing- apparatus. It consists of a backpack that contains a compressed air cylinder, a pressure regulator, and a face mask. The wearer breathes the compressed air from the cylinder, which is exhaled through the face mask.

SABA is less common than SCBA, and is typically used in industrial applications. It consists of a hose that supplies air from a remote source, such as a compressor or a cylinder bank. The wearer breathes the air from the hose, which is exhaled through a face mask or full-facepiece respirator.

In general, breathing -apparatus can range in price from PKR 25,000 to PKR 150,000. Self-contained breathing- apparatus (SCBA) is typically more expensive than supplied-air breathing- apparatus (SABA). SCBA can cost upwards of PKR 55,000, while SABA can be purchased for around PKR 21,000.
